Piling In - By Marc Pierce. Among waterfowl, mallards have some of the most interesting air moves, including the ability to drop almost straight down onto a small target---When it's time to land, it's almost as if they pull the rip-cord on their parachutes and drop straight down, steering with their wings. In an area with lots of birds, the first one will make it onto the target and then his buddies will dive in on top of him.
